A Journey Back to the Game We Love
My story with Magic: The Gathering goes back over 30 years. From the very beginning, I was captivated — not just by the gameplay, but by the incredible artwork, the strategy, and the thrill of building a collection. Magic opened doors to a whole world of imagination that led me to comic books, anime, and the epic pages of high fantasy like The Hobbit.
Like many players, life eventually pulled me away from the game, and somewhere along the way, I lost my original cards and collections. It was a real loss — not just in cards, but in memories.
Then, about 10 years ago, something unexpected happened. I spotted a pack of Magic: The Gathering cards at a dollar store. Something clicked. The art, the nostalgia, the memories — it all came rushing back. That chance encounter reignited a passion I thought was behind me.
Full Circle
Since coming back, I've rediscovered what makes this game truly special: the people. The camaraderie around the table, the shared excitement of a well-played Commander game, the friendships forged over decks and dice — that's what keeps me here. And one of the greatest joys has been introducing my own children to the game, creating new memories together.
